Armitstead Links

Colonel Armistead
The failure of the British to capture Baltimore's fort in the war of 1812 became a legend in American history, not least because of the survival of an oversized flag and a little ditty composed to commemorate it. The gallant commanding officer of the fort was Major Armistead.

Brigadier Armistead
The US Armisteads produced another eminent soldier, but this time he was on the losing side.

Cranage Hall
The seat Lawrence Armitstead built for himself has now been converted from a lunatic asylum into a conference centre. This is a link to Craig Thornber's excellent site.

Felsted School
WKA was a master here for most of his working life, and has a classroom named after him.

Swinnerton Society
WKA married a Swinnerton, and SKA was a founder member of this society

John Armitstead's Site
